Hello
My name is Melissa Boucher ("Boo-shay") and you can call me Missy. I founded this small consultancy in 2023. With thirteen years of experience in designing social programs that work, my roots are in international development. What I love is helping mission-driven organizations grow and execute high-impact work that makes the world a better place. I specialize in organizational strategy, program design, and development and fundraising—all through a commitment to building real relationships and deeply understanding the people and organizations I work with. Outside of work, you’ll find me with my partner, kids, and two furry cats; enjoying long walks; tending to my houseplants; or getting lost in a craft project. Let’s do something great together—I promise it will be fun.
My Story
I've spent my career as a way to explore my interest in the whole world. While my expertise lies in conservation and natural resources (animals, forests, water, public spaces), community development, and health systems strengthening, I am a quick study and pride myself on being able to communicate complex ideas well, no matter the topic area. Designing programs, ensuring they are funded, and managing the many processes in between is my love language. For me, every day spent with a passionate team figuring out how to turn their big ideas into reality is a day well spent.
My education is in public policy analysis (which I consider a degree in problem solving) and my early career training is in project management, which is the scaffolding I bring to every assignment (I can't help it, I was raised by engineers). I pair my respect for management and systems that work with a sincere love of people. I care and think deeply about what helps teams work well together and all said and done I can't stay away from organization-wide operations. I value any opportunity to work with executive teams and cross-functional departments to launch initiatives and strengthen the systems to run their programs better. Helping organizations find the strengths of their teams brings me just as much joy as designing and managing the programs myself (though you'll still find me doing plenty of that!).
I often joke that I was trained to be a Swiss Army knife in implementing social sector programming. In truth, the range is real. My background across program design, project management, and business operations allows me to integrate quickly and add value across business functions. What remains constant, regardless of the role, is how I work: I lead with curiosity. I work hard to understand the people and systems at play. I stay grounded in the mission. And I rely on data—and a clear-eyed look at what actually works—to help shape smart, sustainable decisions with my partners.
